It was you looking down from me from the skies
In between the stars, winking mischieviously
It was you that I heard crying softly in the moonlight
The silent gasps that accompanied the teardrops on my cheeks
It was you that held me close as I slept last night
Comforting me in your familiar arms
It was your presence that made me smile
You made me smile through the heartache I saw in the world
It was your love that pulled us through those times
You made us come together and help each other through
It was you
